ABOUT

All Mea Culpa pieces are designed and handmade by Amelia “Mia”  Carroll. Mia is Naarm/Melbourne born and raised. She completed a Diploma of Jewellery and Object Design at Melbourne Polytechnic in 2016, and has since been honing her skills and bringing Mea Culpa to fruition.

Mea culpa is a Latin phrase that basically means “my bad”. It is an acknowledgement of having done wrong. Mea Culpa’s aesthetic principle is based on the idea of perfect imperfection. Most of the lines aren’t straight and there’s very little symmetry, however, all pieces are handmade from the highest quality materials and finished beautifully.

Mea Culpa acknowledges that it operates on stolen land and is committed to paying the rent. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
